On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an experienced Accountant / Accounting Policy Specialist to support the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) function across Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life business.
Due to several ongoing strategic projects, there is an increased demand for expertise in analyzing and assessing complex accounting topics under IFRS and the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives within a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and assess complex, non-routine accounting and reporting matters
- Interpret and apply IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) requirements
- Act as a subject-matter expert and support internal stakeholders (e.g. FAR, Controlling, and other departments)
- Contribute to ongoing projects related to accounting policy and financial reporting
- Prepare clear, structured, and well-founded accounting assessments and recommendations
- Support and/or take ownership of the IAS 19 process
- Ensure consistent application of accounting standards and internal policies
- Swiss CPA qualification
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and ideally Swiss Code of Obligations (OR)
- Several years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the insurance industry
- Big 4 experience is considered a strong advantage
- Experience in an international corporate environment is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Structured and detail-oriented working style
- Ability to quickly grasp complex topics and communicate them clearly
- Solid SAP knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken)
